Luxury, multi-day canoe-journey on the majestic River Spey with comfortable Dinner, Bed & Breakfast provision punctuating your paddling days.  Whisky tasting opportunities included in your Classic Spey Descent.

Take part in a memorable, magical Journey on the spectacular River Spey. Be and feel close to nature enjoying all its majesty ~ witnessing stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife around you.

Learn/enhance paddling skills, whilst experiencing the natural beauty of Lady Spey ~ but also her moods and playful ways.

Opportunities for whisky tasting experiences/distillery visits can be included your CLASSIC SPEY DESCENT to give you a true taste of the Spey ~ all with the luxury of knowing you will be staying overnight in warm, comfortable accommodation.

An inspirational open-canoe journey of almost 70 miles, staying at villages we pass en route ~ going all the way to Spey Bay, Moray Firth ~ where the fresh meets the salt.

Now my most popular ‘Journey-type’ CLASSIC SPEY DESCENT is normally a 5 day expedition beginning at Kincraig but can be 4 days staring from Aviemore or 3 days from Grantown-on-Spey. Groups normally gather in Speyside on the first evening; kit up & pack; share a delicious dinner, followed by a good night’s rest and, after a hearty breakfast, set off on our Journey, with all required personal items packed safely in the canoes.

Accommodation and dining for CLASSIC SPEY DESCENT

Transport is provided to get you to the starting point (distilleries where required) and return journey from finish point ~ normally Spey Bay back to start-point.

Majority of your expedition is by canoe, through deep, moody pools and challenging but fun white-water rapids.
