60 – 70 mile canoeing expedition, camping out and eating alfresco.  A whisky tasting opportunity will be included in your “at one with nature” experience.

Award yourself the pleasure of being steeped in nature and celebrate that refreshing feeling of being with the elements, whilst guiding your canoe through some of scotland’s most beautiful countryside. An unforgettable, magical journey on the spectacular river spey.

Stay close to nature by day and night as you camp out in modern, light-weight tents and have the comfort of a thermarest mattress between you and mother earth.

There is a unique wilderness feeling to this “at one with nature” option and it suits those who enjoy rustic living, eating wholesome food alfresco and communing with all things natural.  There is also the luxury of a whisky tasting experience to give you a true taste of the spey.

Normally, 5 days starting at Kincraig ~ 4 days from aviemore ~ all the way to spey bay, moray firth. An unforgettable, magical journey ~ close to nature, camping along the way. Expert instruction, guiding, canoe/camping equipment, expedition food and shuttle-transport provided. Award yourself the pleasure of being steeped in nature and history, whilst guiding your canoe through some of scotland’s most beautiful countryside.

Accommodation and dining for “at one with nature” spey descent

Breakfasts, varied lunches and all in camp drinks are provided for you during the days as you journey along the river.   A tepee offers evening refuge from inclement weather and wholesome home cooked or boil in the bag dinners are provided for you and cooked in camp.  All the above is included in the cost.  On the final night on the river we usually dine at the Highlander Inn, Craigellachie where a varied menu is available for you to purchase meals of your choice.

Transport is provided to get you to the starting point and return journey from spey bay at the end. The rest of your expedition is by canoe through still pools and challenging but fun, rapid, white-water sections.

Camping equipment

All tents, thermarests, cooking items, dishes, cutlery, cups etc are provided for you and dave will be your resident chef. Clients are asked to help out with the washing up, etc.  Most camping kit is included but you are asked to bring your own sleeping bag.  See the ‘what to bring list’ for more details.
